Such a Mover
I can't even believe it.
I feel like Charley was just born yesterday.
This time stuff is just flying by way too fast.
At five months old, Charley's constantly smiling, kicking, and squealing away.
She loves to be held and snuggled which I adore.
Baby girl goes 4-5 hour stretches between feedings during the day. At night she'll eat every three hours or so. She'd rather eat when momma's around, and is currently at about 4.5 ounces per feeding.
She still sleeps in her little sleeper next to Mommy's side of the bed. We'll probably be transitioning to her crib soon, since she's getting so big. I'm trying to wait on that for as long as possible. It's so nice not having to actually get out of bed to feed her.
I love snuggling with her in my bed, so she sometimes ends up there in the middle of the night.
She has two teeth.
She weighs close to fifteen pounds, but isn't quite there just yet.
Her eyes are a different color every day. They vary from blue to turquoise to yellow. I'm thinking they're going to end up green, hazel, or a light brown.
Grace still likes to hold her and share her toys. I'd like to think it'll be that way forever.
Charley can sit up on her own for quite a while. She still slowly falls over when she starts getting tired, though.
She can practically sit up from laying on her back. I'd say she's 75% there. She can totally sit straight up when she's at an incline (like in her sleeper).
She has begun to recognize Mommy over everyone else. She gets excited when anyone talks to her, but she jumps and squeals with happiness whenever Mommy comes near. Whenever I tell her to "say mama", she just lights up with joy.
She can move around and get out of the Bumbo.
She recently jumped off the couch. Such a mover.
She can use her feet to push her butt up into the air (hopefully not a sign that she'll crawl soon...don't grow up yet, Charley!!).
She blows raspberries with her lips and loves to chew on her bottom lip. I think that's due to those teeth we spoke about earlier:
Charley has tried pears, sweet potatoes, and bananas. With all three she gets chills and spits them right out. I need to find something a little more bland to try. She will eat rice cereal with breastmilk, but I've only given it to her a few times. Maybe whole bananas will do the trick (or she's just not ready for food yet?).
Charley is such a happy girl. Her little squeals make everyone smile...you just can't help it.
(This is her "squeal" face...imagine the highest pitched eehhhhhhhhh.)
Grace told me this morning that she couldn't wait until Chawyee could sit at her table and eat mac and cheese with her because "it'll be sooo much fun, and we can have tea pawties!"
I love my girls more than a fat kid loves cake, more than all the stars in the sky, more than I ever imagined I would be able to love another person, more than words can describe.
It's hard to remember life with only one child. It seems so easy looking back on it now. We definitely have more excitement and more noise around here, but I wouldn't change it for the world. I thank God every single night for blessing me with these sweet angels.
Happy Five Months little bug!!
