Seriously Magical

A few weeks ago, one of our favorite photographers, Jamie Rubeis, was looking for a family with children of different ages to do a photo shoot for a class. The idea was to film the session and use the footage to show students how to get through a successful session with multiple children.

Jamie and I spoke, and I was so excited to have the chance to do another shoot with her. We've done a couple with her before, and every time I get the images back, I'm just in awe. Her style is flawless. I even took a Lightroom class from her last year, which has helped me edit all the pictures that I take of the girls SO much.

As it got closer to our session date, Jamie reached out to me to let me know that the class had been cancelled. I was only bummed for a second, though, because she also mentioned that she scouted a new location and needed a family to do a test shoot out there for her. We were all in. Especially after I got a glimpse of the place.

Typical me, I waited until the last second to get outfits together. We were literally at the mall that morning shopping, and all I found was a top for me. As soon as we got home, I made the kiddos take a nap while I rummaged through closets to put something together. Luckily, I had just gotten these dresses in for the girls for spring. The colors worked beautifully together, and with the natural colors in the desert, I don't know if I could have planned it any better.

We met Jamie late Saturday afternoon, and she drove us to her secret location. I knew we were in for a treat by the way she was gushing about it. After the first part of our session, we went a little further and saw the most magnificent sun setting over the hills. I could not wait to get our pictures back.

Lucky for me, Jamie was on it and surprised me by sending me all of the photos from our session (our test shoot only included 30) within two weeks. These shots will be replacing our canvas walls in the next couple of weeks, and I don't know if I could love them any more. Enjoy...

Jamie, thank you so much for these gorgeous shots! You are seriously magical. I'll proudly be showing these ones off every chance I get.

Check out more of her work (and book a session) on Facebook, Instagram, and her website.
