Picture of the Week: Our Traditional Cabin Christmas Card Picture

Perry wanted to snuggle and watch movies, so I hung out with her for a bit. We were packing to head up to the cabin for Thanksgiving, so I had to leave her to do some laundry. I came back to her sitting like this searching for another movie.

We made it to the cabin on Wednesday evening, and Isaac and I made Aunt Carol's sweet potato pies so they'd be ready for our feast the next day.

We woke up and got dressed for Thanksgiving, while it started to snow little flurries outside.

After we took some pictures, Perry and Kait Kait took turns taking each other's picture in front of the Christmas tree.

The snow really started coming down, and everyone got super excited.

The kids got their jackets on and headed outside on the back porch. There wasn't much snow accumulating out there, so we moved to the front yard where there was a lot more.

The kids had a blast making snow balls and jumping around in the snow.

Perry liked eating the snow and kept calling it "ice cream".

She loved playing with Daddy and hitting him with snow balls.

These crazy little girls were loving it. Perry didn't want to go inside and loved wearing her gloves.

Gracie tried to build a snowman, but there wasn't quite enough snow.

Back inside, Perry kept an eye on the snow through the window.

Charley watched Grammy clean the turkey and then decided she was never eating turkey again.

The girls took my camera down to the game room, and I found all sorts of fun photos on it when they brought it back upstairs.

Dinner was almost ready, and the kids wanted to play in the snow again. It was supposed to be warmer the next day, and we figured it would all be gone, so we let them play in it as much as possible.

It really started snowing hard, so I went to watch from inside, while these crazies stayed out in it.

Finally, the turkey was ready, and Papa carved it and the ham. We ate a yummy spread of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, green bean casserole, and rolls. It was delicious, and we were all down for the count afterwards.

Isaac and Alex wanted to go down to Cedar City at six o'clock for some Black Friday shopping. Unfortunately, Perry decided to run around the living room and fall head first into the metal corner of a coffee table. She instantly had a huge, blue lump on her forehead. We couldn't decide if we should take her to the ER or not - Char's concussion scare left a big impression on us, and we're (even more) freaked out about head injuries now. After driving around for a bit, Perry started to eat some cookies and then fell asleep. We decided just to keep an eye on her, so we headed back to the cabin. As soon as we got there, she was back to normal and playing with the other kids in the game room. Since we felt one hundred times better, Isaac and Alex headed down to Cedar City to shop the night away.

The next morning, the rest of us were jealous of the guys' Black Friday haul, so after we enjoyed our coffee, we all headed down to Cedar City for even more shopping. We got some awesome deals and pretty much finished up our Christmas shopping. On the way back to the cabin, we stopped at a little park so the girls could get some energy out.

Perry still had lots of energy and sang along to her favorite song as we drove up the mountain. There is a short span of road where you lose all service, and she wasn't happy when her song turned off for a few seconds.

When we got back to the cabin, we cheered on the Sooners as they beat West Virginia to get to the Big 12 Championship. Whoo Whoo!

The kids went pine cone hunting with Grammy and found lots of good ones.

They made sparkly pine cones and the cutest little owls that afternoon.

That night, Perry made up silly stories as she pretended to read me this "book".

I had literally been trying to get a picture of a snowflake up close the entire weekend. Isaac told me to go check out the car window, and finally, I got some awesome pictures. I just find it so fascinating that snowflakes actually look like this when they fall from the sky. It's the coolest thing.

We took a quick picture of all the grandkids with Papa Rick and Grammy before it was time to go.

Then we packed up and headed down the mountain. The girls watched their iPads and took pictures as we drove.

We stopped at Grandma Beth's and got some awesome pictures with most of the cousins since a lot of them were up there for Thanksgiving. I have always said that I want a lot of kids so I can someday have a lot of grandkids and just be surrounded by so much love. Seeing both sets of my grandparents have so many generations of love around them makes me envision my life the same way as Isaac and I grow older. It's so awesome to have all of these people to love and cherish. I especially love all of the little ones with their Great Grandma. It just fills my heart with so much joy!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We sure enjoyed our time with our family and relaxing at the cabin. I'm so grateful for the memories that we've been able to make with the girls this year. We are so blessed and thankful to have these three crazy people make our lives better every single day.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
