Picture of the Week: Ready to Cheer on Nebraska

After our first fun weekend in Nebraska, we were excited that we had another full week to spend with everyone. We met Uncle Mike and Aunt Susie at Texas Roadhouse for dinner, where Perry thoroughly enjoyed the rolls and butter, and Grace played on Snapchat.

Back at Grandma Sally's, Perry hung out with Daddy before watching movies with Char Char in their bedroom.

The next morning, we took the girls ice skating at the rink where Papa Taylor used to take Isaac when he was little. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, and the girls had so much fun.

After ice skating, we headed over to see Grandma Di. We spent some time catching up with her and reminiscing about the good ol' days with Papa.

Gracie colored her a Thanksgiving picture for her refrigerator, while we talked.

We went to Sorentino's Pizza for lunch, like we used to do with Papa, and the girls won a million stuffed animals from the claw machine.

On the way back to Grandma Sally's, we had to stop at Target, so the girls and I enjoyed some coffee and hot chocolate.

We picked up some crafts while we were there, and the girls had fun making Grandma all kinds of Christmas decorations.

We had chicken noodle soup for dinner, because the weather changed, and it was freezing outside.

The next day, we headed back over to Grandpa and Grandma Espejo's to see them one last time. The girls played with Sandy the cat, and Perry was the cutest playing in this little chair.

Grandma had a stroke a few weeks before we came out, so Isaac worked on her exercises with her and made her sing this song that she always sang to him when he was little. He got it on video to save for our kids and their kids.

We saw a beautiful sunset on the way home that evening.

We went to Uncle Mike and Aunt Susie's on Friday to eat Mike's famous ribs and watch the Nebraska game. The girls couldn't get enough of Peyton and Brody. Perry wasn't too sure about them at first, but she warmed up quickly.

Uncle Mike made the best ribs, and we had fun chatting and laughing while we watched the game. Gracie got in lots of snuggle time with Peyton and was so sad when we had to leave.

When we got back to Grandma's, Perry held her gnome that she has been obsessed with all week. This kid is such a weirdo.

We flew back home on Saturday morning, and the girls were so good on the plane.

Perry was so happy to be home and just wanted to nap on my face.

We spent the evening putting up our Christmas tree, and I'm always in awe when we finish. It's so beautiful and the best thing to come home to at the end of each day.

Sunday was all about the lights, and we all pitched in to get them done in record time.

Christmas is in the air, and after a great trip to Nebraska, we're ready to get in the spirit.

See you next week!
