R.I.P. Isabel

Isabel (Izzie B) Espejo 06-02-09 to 11-10-10 We lost our sweet little baby Isabel this week to a tragic car accident.  She slipped out the front door and in a split second she was gone. We were so unprepared for this and can't believe we'll never get to kiss her precious face again. She was the best puppy ever, had the biggest personality of any dog I've ever met, and wanted to be friends with everyone. She will so sadly missed by us all :( The first night we got Isabel. Our wedding day. Christmas 2009 January 2010 March 2010 Hanging with the girls at Kelli's bridal shower. Meeting Grace for the first time. Summer 2010 Playing with Grace in July Hanging out in the backyard 4 weeks ago. Helping Grace do tummy time 2 weeks ago Napping together last week. This is the last picture we took of her. We always pictured Grace chasing her around the house when she got older. Izzie was supposed to be her best friend, and we always imagined them growing up together...

My Poor Dog

I used to think I had the cutest dog ever. Judging by her personality I'm certain of it.  She's hyper, super active, loving, and she keeps us laughing all the time.  After this new haircut though, she's not looking so hot. She went from looking like this adorable little mop: To looking something like a coyote-chihuahua mix: Last time we took her to our vet to get groomed, they really messed up her hair.  We decided that it would be a great idea to take her to Petsmart because it was cheaper (when I called) and maybe they could do a better job.  Well, when Isaac and I went to pick her up and she looked like this, we weren't too happy.  On top of the terrible haircut, they charged us for every other little thing they did (like brushing her teeth, cleaning her ears, etc.)!! Although we didn't like the way she looked at first, it kind of grows on you.  Plus, I think she loves not having her hair get matted and being cooler when she's outside....

O'Callahan Park

Image
We have been trying to take Isabel to the park for the past couple of weekends, but it always ends up being windy or too cold out. Finally we had a beautiful, warm Sunday. Our friends Kelli and Eddie wanted to take their dog too, so we decided to go together. O'Callahan Park is the one that I always played at as a kid, so I really wanted to go there. We stopped for a Slurpee, grabbed some tie-outs, and we were on our way. When we first got there it was fairly quiet, but as the day wore on, it got busier and busier. Izzie isn't too fond of strangers so every time someone would walk near our spot in the grass she'd bark like crazy until they left. She didn't really know what to do at first, because she's only ever been in our house or on her leash for a walk around the neighborhood. She got more used to it though and really enjoyed it! Isabel running through the park. Pearl fetching her ball. The boys throwing balls for the dogs. Kelli and me relaxing in the sun....

Isabel's Playdate

Image
Dear Pearlita, Thanks for coming to play with me on Saturday! I had the best time chewing on your ears and paws. I don't really mind sharing my water bowl that much, but remember that my food is off limits. I can't believe my mom took it away when I tried to eat it all really fast before you could have some. It seemed like it was taking forever for you to come over, so I tried to wait patiently and played with my chicken. We looked so cool doing our super secret handshake (or pawshake?). I really like it when we chase each other around the house and back yard. I think our parents do too, because they kept laughing at us! I couldn't believe how tired I was after all that running.  The next day I couldn't even move! I slept the whole day on the couch with my mom and dad.  I hope we can play again soon!! Love <3, Izzie B.
