Happy Valentine's Day!!


Last year, we got a new TV and living room furniture for downstairs.

Since this year is our first Valentine's Day as a family, we kept it simple and made some yummy cookies.


We also got each other cards that spilled our hearts out, and Grace surprised us with a card too!


Last week, Grace found some Olivia Valentine's and begged me to get them for her, so she could send them to all of her grandparents and friends.

I couldn't resist.

She spent a lot of time making sure they were just right.


I helped a little, and then we mailed them all out so everyone would get them before Valentine's Day.

Isaac and I made a yummy dinner.


I put Grace to bed, and now I'm going to convince him to give me a back rub while we cuddle up and watch The Bachelor.

...Char was sleeping so peacefully Monday morning that I didn't want to wake her up. ...she made me a pretty picture at school with chalk. ...she continued her obsession with the easel and colored (and watched Toy Story ) while waiting for Daddy to get home from work. Mommy-Daughter Night

Thursday night, Isaac went to play poker with some of Sunstate's biggest customers (and soon to be customers). Since he left around 4:30 and didn't come home until well after Grace and I were asleep, we got to have a whole mommy-daughter night! I get to spend every night with her, but having quality time with just the two of us is pretty rare. This means that nights alone with mom get to be extra special treats for both of us! When Daddy left, Grace asked "ah da da?" about one hundred times. Once she got over the fact that he was gone, we had a lot of fun. We started the night out watching Wall-E and building castles out of Mega Blocks. Then, Grace helped me unload the dishwasher while our dinner finished cooking: She's the best helper ever! Junior Ranger Day

Saturday was Junior Ranger Day at the Water Safety Center at Lake Mead.   Isaac's brother, Zacarias, was working and invited us to come down and check it out.   We're always up for anything that the girls might have fun at, so we got ready and headed down to the lake. It was right next to where my parents dock their boat, so it was pretty easy to find.   When we first got there, Grace was a little shy and skeptical about everything. It took her a while to warm up.   We found Uncle Zac by the fire truck and Grace hesitantly climbed inside with him:     She was a little afraid until I took her to the front of the trucks and showed her the lights.
