Ten Years Together

The beautiful story of us...

When we were in Ms. Furlow's seventh grade science class, Isaac and I were assigned each other as lab partners for the year. We "went out" for about two weeks before he broke up with me because I wouldn't kiss him. His exact words were that I was "as straight as an arrow". We spent the rest of the school year picking on one another.

A few years later, we were entering second period on the first day of our sophomore year of high school. Ms. Cano had us draw numbers to get our assigned seats for the school year. Isaac and I were once again assigned seats right next to each other. He was actually in the seat directly behind mine. After grading each other's papers for a few weeks and flirting back and forth, Isaac asked me for my phone number so I could help him with some homework. I'm pretty sure that was just an excuse to ask for my number, because we started talking on the phone allll the time.

A few weeks went by, and I decided to ask him to the Sadie Hawkins dance. Since I was a cheerleader and he was on the football team, I waited until game day and then painted a giant sign to hang on the press box above the bleachers:

I'll never forget watching the team walk out on the football field to warm up before the game. Isaac looked up, saw my sign, and shook his head "yes" with his gold helmet on. The whole team (coaches included) gave him a hard time throughout the game, but it was totally worth it.

November 17, 2011 came pretty quickly:

I made sure to get us Abercrombie sweaters in school colors for the big day. They turned out to be so cute. We still have them both hanging in our hall closet, although I don't think we could fit into them anymore:

We went to the dance with Chris Crunk and Contessa O'Neal. We took a limo to the Knights of the Round Table show at the Excalibur. The show was pretty cool. It included a dinner of soup, a whole chicken, and veggies. The downside was that, staying in the time period of the show, we weren't allowed to use any silverware. That was fun.

Afterwards, we went back to my house to hang out until my mom drove everyone home. We took Isaac home last and when I walked him to his door, he asked me out and we had our first kiss.

(Seriously, can this story get any cuter?!)

The rest is history. We spent the next few years of high school breaking up, making up, and having a blast with our best friends. Friday night football games were what we lived for, and we have such great memories from those years.

After high school, our lives got even better. We got engaged in 2008, married in 2009, graduated from UNLV with our BSBA in Business Management the same year, had a gorgeous baby girl in 2010, and are now expecting our second baby girl!

I wasn't sure what pictures to include, so I chose one from each year from 2001-2011. It's kind of like a little picture timeline of our first ten years together. Enjoy:

It's been the greatest decade anyone could imagine for two people. We are so blessed to have one another, and I can't wait to see what the next ten years together brings!!
