Easter Santa
After celebrating Easter at Grammy and Papa Rick's on Wednesday (more on that later as I haven't gotten the pictures from my mom just yet) and dying eggs with Poppa and Gran on Friday, we still had a busy Easter weekend planned.
Grace had been telling me that the Easter Bunny was going to bring her Sulley from Monsters, Inc. for weeks now. She was so surprised to wake up and find him sitting in the front room on Easter morning. She also got a Sulley toothbrush and cup among a million other things.
Charley bug loves her some Minnie Mouse, so the Easter Bunny did good and brought her the works.
The girls also got some adorable new outfits.
(Was his name Easter Bunny or Easter Santa?)
Isaac suprised me with the prettiest Easter lillies. They're so beautiful and they make our house smell amazing.
I had this plan to have the girls plant jelly beans which would then grow into suckers by morning. Unfortunately, I remembered that we needed to plant them around midnight the night before.
I improvised by having her plant them that morning after she got dressed. Grandma and Grandpa Whiting and Zac and his family were coming over for brunch, so we did that while we waited for them to arrive.
When they got there, Grandma gave the girls another Easter basket, and Charley tried so hard to figure out how to get the candies out of the eggs.
While we waited for breakfast to finish, we went to check on the jellybeans.
Surprise! They grew into suckers.
Once the food was ready, we headed outside to eat on the patio because it was such a beautiful day.
After breakfast, we took the girls inside to play with their baskets some more. When we went back out, the Easter Bunny had just left again, and this time, he left tons of eggs all over the yard for the girls to find.
Once the eggs were all discovered (and opened), we headed out front to fly Grace's new Cinderlla kite that Grandma Lisa brought her. She had fun watching Daddy and then trying it out on her own.
Even Easton came outside to give it a go.
(Silly boy.)
Soon it was time to head to the next family's house for lunch and Easter basket number five. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Espejo's for Easter ham. We had a great time visiting with them and Grandma even made me some brownies to celebrate my birthday since we were all too busy to do it a couple of weeks ago. We forgot to take pictures over there, because we got distracted by the Duke and Louisville game.
Finally, we got to come home and relax for the rest of the afternoon. Grace and Daddy took a nap, so Charley and I played with her Easter gifts some more.
She had a tea party in her high chair with her new tea set from Grandma Espejo.
She wore her cute little pony tail and bunny slippers.
She wore her First Easter hat from Grandma Whiting.
I tried taking a picture of her in one of her baskets, and she was not happy with me.
So I gave her some more eggs to cheer her up.
Soon, Grace woke up and we stayed in the Monster's Inc. theme and had macaroni and cheese with noodles shaped like the movie characters.
We had such a fun Easter and are so blessed to have such wonderful families all around us. We share so much love, and we are always thankful when we get to see all of them in one week.
I hope you all had a blessed Easter as well :)
