A Day at Staheli Farm
Last week, we made our annual trek to St. George to spend a day at Staheli Farm.
Since Grace and Char both had early soccer games, we headed up for the afternoon. The girls were amazed as soon as we walked in. They had skeletons on the cylo, and the Sanderson sisters were hanging out with Wick'a Dee Witch.
As usual, the girls ran straight for the rubber duck races. Char stopped to take a quick peek at the geese first.
Perry loved watching the ducks float back and forth as Grace and Char flooded their streams with water. She would chase them from one side to the next.
When they spotted the slides into the corn kernels, the girls beelined it in that direction. Perry loves corn and instantly tried eating some. Once she got over the fact that they weren't for dinner, she had a blast playing in the kernels.
Grace was a pro at swinging across the hay bales on the ropes and gave Char some advice before she jumped on.
Next up was the teeter totter. All three of the girls loved this one, and Perry did not want to get off.
We convinced her to move on with the pillow top bouncer. This one is always a favorite, and I just love watching the kids run and jump with the most beautiful scenery behind them. This has to be one of my most favorite backdrops ever.
The girls checked out some pigs and goats, but they didn't want to get too close this year.
We stopped for ice cream cones, and Perry stole both Mommy's and Daddy's.
The girls went down the giant slides, and it wasn't long before Perr wanted to join in. Gracie took her down the first time, but then she wanted to go on her own. It takes lots of bribing to get them off of this one.
We made our way to the pumpkin patch to pick some pumpkins. Perry really wanted to carry one around, but they were just too heavy.
The girls rode the cow train, and had fun bumping through the field.
Every year, the farm adds new attractions, which is one reason we love coming here so much. It's always a blast and there is always something new to see. This year, they used a crane to raise some HUGE pumpkins and dropped them into a pool of water from way up high. It was pretty cool for the kids, but it gave me anxiety.
While Grace and Char ran around with the Sebastian boys, Perry hung out on the swings and crawled through the large pipes.
She made her way back to the corn kernels to throw them around some more.
The girls wanted to do the zip line, so we headed over there with Easton, and they went back and forth. Grace was a nut and hung upside down every time.
When they had their fill, they pushed the big wheel next to the pillow top and then went jumping again.
Charley wanted to mine for gems, and it was getting a bit cold outside. Perry opted for her blanky, while Char played in the water.
Meanwhile, Grace was shooting paint balls, so we went to check her out after Char got all of her fancy stones. She decided to shoot, too, and she had me cracking up when she kept closing one eye. Gracie did great and hit the three swinging birds. Girlfriend is a good shot!
We posed for a few quick photo ops as we worked our way towards the exit. Perry's new cheese face had us all cracking up.
The girls found Wick'a Dee Witch again and got a picture with her this time.
We were literally dragging the girls out of the farm as they kept stopping to do "one more thing".
Staheli Family Farm is one of our favorite traditions. It's a place where you can just relax and let the kids do their thing, and everyone has a great time. No matter how busy our lives get, we always make it a point to get up here at least once in October. If you've never been, we highly recommend it!
